Library Administration:
- provides methodological guidance to the libraries of higher educational institutions in the city of Kyiv, the Kyiv region and Ukraine;

Scientific and Methodological Department:
The Scientific and Methodological Department performs the functions of a Methodological Center for coordinating the activities of libraries of state-owned higher education institutions of Ukraine, regardless of their departmental affiliation.
The Department:
- provides methodological and advisory assistance to higher education institution libraries in all areas of library activity;
- analyzes planning and reporting documentation of higher education institution libraries and prepares consolidated informational, statistical and other materials concerning their activities;
- develops electronic databases on the Library website, including:
- Legal support for libraries;
- Current standards in library and information activities and others;
- participates in organizing and conducting scientific and practical conferences, seminars and meetings of heads of higher education institution libraries;
- provides information support for scholarly communication among employees of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv aimed at disseminating research results, increasing the University community’s presence in the global academic space, promoting open access to scientific information and related activities;
- provides consultations and conducts training events for researchers and students on the effective use of modern digital tools for scholarly communication in the processes of searching, writing, publishing, disseminating and assessing the impact of research results.
The Information Monitoring Service (hereinafter referred to as IMS) of the Maksymovych Scientific Library was established in March 2015. Its primary objective is to strengthen the scientific reputation and impact of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv through the effective representation of the research achievements of its staff in the global information space. In 2024, IMS was renamed the Information Monitoring and Research Publishing Support Service due to the expansion of its areas of activity.

- Verifying compliance of PhD students’ publications and publications of members of specialized academic councils with the requirements of scholarly journals.
- Providing continuous information support throughout all stages of scientific research.
- Preserving full-text versions of dissertations in the institutional repository eKNUTSHIR in accordance with the requirement for open access publication.
- Ordering scientific literature for the University staff through the Rapid ILL service, an international interlibrary loan system.
- Support for Research Publishing Activities
- Consulting and assessing the compliance of the University’s scholarly journals with the requirements of international scientometric databases such as Scopus, Web of Science and DOAJ.
- Verifying the compliance of scholarly publications with the criteria for recognized Ukrainian academic journals.
- Registering DOI identifiers for the University’s scholarly publications.
- Ensuring the preservation, dissemination, and long-term access to electronic scholarly, educational and methodological materials in the eKNUTSHIR repository.
- Providing information and technical support to users.
- Administering the Strike Plagiarism online service, which checks textual documents for borrowed content from open Internet sources or from the user’s internal document database.

Document Acquisition Department:

- ensures the technical operation of equipment, engineering systems, and other fixed assets of the Library building and prevents their use in violation of established standards and regulations;
- conducts daily monitoring of the condition of the building, premises, engineering systems and adjacent territory;
- eliminates minor operational deficiencies in the building (replacement of light bulbs, door repairs, painting of small surfaces, replacement of plumbing fixtures, etc.);
- submits proposals regarding current and major repairs and, together with the Facilities Management Department services, prepares the necessary technical documentation;
- supervises the quality of work performed by contracted construction organizations during current and major repairs of the building and its premises.
