How to Automate Research Data Management: Digital Services

On March 19, a webinar titled “How to Automate Research Data Management: Digital Services” was held as part of the ongoing discussion on FAIR data. The event brought together representatives from the scientific community and libraries that provide guidance to researchers on open science practices.

Oleksandr Shevchuk, a leading bibliographer in the Research Sector of the M. Maksymovych Scientific Library, delivered an in-depth presentation on the topic.

The webinar focused on the following key issues:

  • Creating a data management plan (DMP)
  • Renaming file packages
  • Alternatives to Excel and Google Sheets for research purposes
  • Anonymizer services for encoding sensitive data
  • Evaluating repositories for compliance with FAIR principles

The event was opened by Maryna Zhenchenko, Director of the Maksymovych Scientific Library, who emphasized the significance of the topic and introduced the keynote speaker.

In addition to the main themes, the webinar addressed important questions raised by participants, such as:

  • Building a library community within a subject repository
  • The role of libraries in automating research data management
  • Verifying FAIR principles for the publication of research in repositories
