SUBJECT LIBRARIANS

To improve information services for users of the M. Maksymovych Scientific Library of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, a new service –the subject librarian service – has been established.

Our subject librarians will help users find and effectively use both traditional print publications and electronic databases.

Each subject librarian is responsible for the subject area assigned to them.

You can choose your specialist from the list below.

A SUBJECT LIBRARIAN CAN HELP:

FACULTY MEMBERS, RESEARCHERS/DEPARTMENTS

by compiling library acquisition requests for literature needed for research and teaching.
by recommending open educational resources that can be used for teaching and learning.
by providing information about new acquisitions and databases.
by answering questions about information resources via email.
by assisting with ordering documents through interlibrary loan (ILL) and the international Rapid ILL service (EXLibris).
by providing information about the availability of resources in academic disciplines for the accreditation of educational programs.
by assisting in in the selection of educational materials and resources to supplement the lists of primary and additional information sources in the syllabi of academic disciplines.

STUDENTS

by providing consultation and support in using the library’s information resources and software.
by helping students obtain access to information and library resources.
by helping students compile reference lists when writing scholarly papers.
by helping students select literature from the library’s collection by subject.

A subject librarian also provides remote bibliographic consultations by email or telephone.
