The Research Data Support page (https://lnu.se/en/medarbetare/researcher/researcher5/Research-data/) was created by Linnaeus University in collaboration with the university library as an information resource to support researchers in managing research data at all stages of the research process.

This section brings together recommendations and tools to assist researchers in planning, storing, publishing and archiving data in line with current open science requirements. The tools and guidelines for effective data management are presented on this page according to the data lifecycle:

1. Planning

• what a Data Management Plan (DMP) is and how to create one;
• taking into account legal and ethical considerations, in particular the handling of personal data and
  the need for ethical approval of the research.

2. During the project

• compliance with information security;
• use of the Sunet Drive service — a national file storage and sharing system for
  researchers in Sweden.

3. Storage and archiving

• guidelines on secure data storage;
• guidelines on when research data should be retained or archived;

• how to publish datasets in the Swedish National Data Service catalogue;

• where to find datasets that have already been published (for example, via Researchdata.se or international repository catalogues).
